As a Colorado Springs family photographer, I absolutely love to shoot at The Broadmoor. In fact it is one of the most luxurious resorts in the nation! If you are considering this destination for a family vacation, you won’t be disappointed. The resort has garnered numerous awards to include top ratings from Forbes, AAA, Conde Nast, Frommers, USA Today and US News and World Report. However, once you’ve made the easy decision to stay here, you may be wondering – “what are some fun things to do at The Broadmoor?”
This iconic hotel is rich in history and prides itself on adding an element of adventure with “something for everyone”. Do you enjoy golf? The Broadmoor Golf Club consists of two courses designed by some of the greatest names in golf. It has even been named the host of the 2025 US Senior Open.
If you prefer to swing a racquet over a club, The Broadmoor Tennis Club has both tennis and pickleball courts, and has been named as one of the top 20 tennis resorts in the county.
Want to break a sweat? Visit The Broadmoor’s state of the art fitness center, where you can take a class or work with a personal trainer.
If your spirit of adventure calls, there are numerous other things to do at The Broadmoor. One of the highlights is a trip to Seven Falls. This natural wonder is just one mile from The Broadmoor. It is often called “The Greatest Mile of Scenery in Colorado”. It offers striking rock formations, stunning valleys and a waterfall that drops 181 feet.
Additionally, looking for even more of thrill? Reserve your spot for “Soaring Adventure”. You’ll traverse rope bridges in the treetops and zipline through the forest at top speed.
However, if heights aren’t appealing, try your hand at fly fishing! Beginners can take an Intro class. Those who are more experienced can schedule guided trips for either a half or full day. The Broadmoor even offers and Orvis-endorsed fly fishing camp!
If hiking is your thing, there are trails onsite as well as ones offsite ranging from easy to advanced. You may choose to explore the renowned, Garden of the Gods, North Cheyenne Canyon, or the more challenging trails at Section 16.
Looking for even more activities? The Broadmoor offers experiences in rock climbing, biking and falconry (yes, hanging out and working with falcons!) In addition there is a “Wild West Exploration.” Here, you can try your hand at tomahawk throwing, archery and shooting pellet guns.
After all of this, you’re going to be HUNGRY. At least one of The Broadmoor’s 17 restaurants, cafes and lounges, that range from fine dining to casual bakeries, will fulfill your need. Craving Italian? Try Ristorante del Lago which serves authentic al fresco Italian dishes. Looking for something “meatier”? Summit is The Broadmoor’s award winning steakhouse. Want a good old gastropub? Try Busy Bee. And for FUN for the whole family, reserve a table at “Play at the Broadmoor.” At this restaurant you can order Americana favorites AND go bowling!
In conclusion, there are SO many experiences and things to do at The Broadmoor! I can’t think of a better way to document your adventure than to capture it all with a family photography session. Let’s take advantage of your stay at this stunning resort, document your memories, and capture some beautiful images that you can enjoy forever! I would be honored to photograph you and your loved ones at one of Colorado Springs’ gems, The Broadmoor.
