Larz Anderson House Wedding – A History
A little history… Built in the early 1900s, the mansion was the private residence of American diplomat Larz Anderson. He and his wife worked closely with architects to create their home in the “Beaux-Arts” style. This means that the house is gloriously created with influences from the French Neoclassicism eras, with Renaissance and Baroque elements. Think: lots of iron, glass, marble, and gilded gold. After hosting the political and social elite for over 40 years, the home was then donated to the Society of the Cincinnati. In the late 1900s, it was became registered as a National Historic Landmark.
As you could deduce, having a Larz Anderson House wedding would mean hosting the best day of your life in not only a stunning location – but also one immensely filled with historical and cultural significance. When hosting your wedding at the Larz Anderson House, you will have multiple options to choose from regarding your event space. From grand ballrooms with sweeping staircases, to an elegant outdoor patio (reflection pool and all,) you and your designer will have the freedom to truly create the luxury event of your dreams. While the home is lovingly decorated with architectural gems and beautiful art, you can hone in on your ideal aesthetic with carefully selected florals, rentals, and decor. Or, you can celebrate its history and vintage beauty by going with a “minimalism” route. The grandeur and design of the home can accommodate any wedding dream. Regardless, your wedding day will be filled with romantic luxury.
A Larz Anderson House wedding can accommodate up to approximately 130 guests for a wedding ceremony, reception, seated dinner, and dancing. In addition, the venue also offers discounts for weddings with under 50 people. This truly makes it an ideal location for intimate and medium sized affairs. Reservation rates range from $12,000 – $16,000 and are dependent on the time of year and day of the week.
